for me, a speed paint can take from 10 minutes to 1h30, so 40min is not too long ^^
Have you made a video of one of your speed paint? I would really like to see your paint process!!
Anyway very nice work! :)

40 minutes for THAT is one hell of a speedpainting. T'would take me 4 hours to get to a result not even half as good... So no, 40 minutes is not too long :)
BTW it looks like a mix between an X-wing and a Viper

I bought my first crappy tablet some 4 or 5 years ago. Then I didn't use it for about one year. Then I used it again. Then I broke it. And finally, a few month ago I bought my new Wacom Intuos. So my "length of service" should be something like 3 or 4 years. Damn I hate you xD

Don't worry I understand you perfectly :)
You just proved that good tools don't make a good artist, and crappy tools on't make a crappy artist. Of course, high-quality tools help your creativity, but they're just, well... tools.
I really need to learn more :)

Hmm..You can watch GNOMON workshop videos, its awesome stuff! :) Also, if you want improve your skills in digital art you must draw well in traditional art. So, there is main tasks for you---1. traditional art. 2.anatomy 3. technical drawing :)

Alright, Gnomon Workshop videos you say? I'll have to look into those.

Perhaps maybe glancing at my gallery would get a better idea of where I'm at and what may help me improve.

Thanks!

Dean, I saw your pics and your gallery, so...here its my main advice: keep practice in human anatomy!! Just draw people from photos, or called your friends artist's models..Anatomy is EXTREMELY important thing! Actually I not strong in anatomy too, but I may draw faces well..Anatomy and understanding of human body==>key for the pro-level artist :)
sorry for english :psychotic:
